As part of its expansion plan to establish a network of logistics centers, His Royal Highness the prince of Madinah Al-Munawaroh inaugurated the nupco logistics center in Madinah Al-Munawaroh with an area of 32,000 m ². The center is equipped with the latest technology systems for inventory monitoring to improve the quality of medical services. And the Madinah Al-Munawaroh Logistics Center plays an important role in supporting the health services provided to the Hajj and Umrah seasons by providing medicines and medical supplies quickly and efficiently.

The center boasts a storage capacity of up to 23 thousand pallets and 20 thousand storage shelves and includes a fleet of 19 integrated vehicles for the efficient distribution of medicines and medical supplies. It provides 100 jobs within the center.
The inauguration of the center comes as a completion of nupco’s strategic initiative to expand the scope of its integrated medical supply chain services to cover all regions of Saudi Arabia.

After the success achieved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Hajj season 1444 AH, after ending the health procedures and protocols for the Corona pandemic that swept the world and forced countries to close their borders, all sectors sought to work throughout the year in developing the following plans for this year’s Hajj season, which targeted about two million pilgrims from inside and outside the Kingdom.

nupco began work on preparing medical supply chains for this year’s Hajj season eight months ago from the beginning of the Hijri year, starting with studying last year’s reports to design an integrated plan in coordination with government health entities in early preparation to serve the guests of Rahman in its facilities, which numbered 354 health facilities in Makkah. nupco started from its central warehouses in the western region (Jeddah -Mina, and Arafat), in which the logistical operations of hospitals and health centers are managed to secure all medical needs in providing optimal health care for every pilgrim.

In line with the digital transformation, nupco has applied many modern technologies in following up the progress of operations and monitoring the stock of medical items in a main monitoring center through direct screens that show all health entities locations in Mina and Arafat, the status of the store and the volume of consumption of items in each site in real-time. To secure all sites, nupco has put a minimum so that once the stock percentage reaches 50%, the center is automatically notified to request support. In addition to the technical solutions applied by nupco in securing medical items and ensuring the speedy receipt of health care for every pilgrim on time, electric scooters were used for the first time for their ease of movement and speed in crowded or remote places, as this technology contributed to the rapid response to emergency cases, which numbered more than 500 cases. It was implemented in a record time of 13 minutes or less.

By the grace of Allah, this year’s Hajj season witnessed an exceptional success story, as it was devoid of public health threats. nupco had a role in securing 100% of the medical items, which amounted to 1,624 medical items, as they were transported in a fleet of 30 refrigerated trucks according to the specifications of the Food and Drug Authority to ensure The arrival of the necessary medical supplies to provide the highest quality of health care services to the pilgrims, to ensure their comfort in performing the rituals of Hajj with ease, and harnessing all human and technical capabilities to achieve this goal. It is noteworthy that nupco is a company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund, established in 2009, specializes in designing, implementing, and improving medical supply chain solutions in managing transportation and storage operations for pharmaceutical, medical devices, and supplies with high-quality and efficiency to achieve the optimal level of health care provision.

On the occasion of the launch Country without Drugs campaign, nupco participates in an awareness booth on addiction in the presence of many specialists and counselors in Granadia Mall on Thursday and Friday, 22-23 June 2023, from 3 pm to 10 pm. The event aims to enhance the role of nupco in educating and aware the community about the danger of drugs to our community.

In line with the role of the Public Investment Fund in launching and developing strategic sectors in the Kingdom and enhancing their economic impact, including the sports sector, and affirming NUPCO’s role in achieving community sustainability through active contribution to the development of Saudi sports, NUPCO signed a Sponsorship contract with Al Nassr Saudi Club for a period of three years starting from July 2023. NUPCO was represented in signing the agreement by the CEO of Operations, Mr. Fahd Al-Bat’hi, and Al Nassr Club was represented by Mr. Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, the CEO.

The exhibition aims to support national development and achieve the goals of Vision 2030, for the private sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product and building long-term partnerships with The private sector and unleashing opportunities in the Kingdom, where the exhibition witnessed a number of visits by private sector suppliers and those interested in the health sector, and introduced them to the most important nupco offers towards raising the level of health care in the Kingdom

nupco also signed a number of agreements during the forum with several companies serving the health sector (Johnson & Johnson, Damad, MediServ) as suppliers through nupco’s Marketplace, to participate in Marketplace service provided by NUPCO for private sector health entities. with the aim of raising the efficiency of the health sector and covering the needs of health authorities in the Kingdom. An agreement was also signed with Air Conditioners Company. Al-Zamil as a supplier to equip warehouses and trucks for transporting medicines with integrated air conditioning and refrigeration systems according to the highest approved quality standards.

With the aim of establishing new partnerships and strengthening relationships with global suppliers; nupco participated in the MEDLAB Middle East 2023 exhibition, which was hosted by the Dubai World Trade Center from 6-9 February. More than 500 exhibitors from more than 40 participating countries, with the aim of showcasing the latest medical products and solutions in the world.

nupco participated in the Arab Health Exhibition, which was located in the Dubai World Trade Center from January 30 to February 2, 2023, as the exhibition is one of the largest exhibitions in the field of health care in the Middle East and North Africa.
